After a busy time, the PADI IDC for May 2015 is completed, in conjunction with PADI 5* IDC Center ‘Neptune Diving Adventure‘. Matt and Karsten completed the PADI IDC, the EFR Instructor course and Specialty Instructor training and Marlies completed her PADI IDCS course, congratulations all around.
The PADI IDC for May 2015
We had lots of fun, the IDC candidates and Marlies learned a lot, by means of classroom presentations by Johan (PADI Master Instructor) and myself, by plenty of workshops with some real good hands on experience and knowledge being shared, during confined- and open water dives and also with the theory- and standards exams.
The PADI IDCS Course
Marlies was able to freshen up on the new courses that have been released since she stopped actively teaching a few years ago, like the PADI Open Water and Divemaster courses and the new PADI DSD experience and ReActivate program among others and she learned how to evaluate classroom-, confined- and open water presentations by the IDC candidates.
EFR Instructor training
The EFR Instructor course was nailed well by both Matt and Karsten, the best part being when they had their wicked ways with the mannequins and the AED and the least favorite part was the exam. No real surprises there!
PADI Specialty Instructor training
Now it was on to the Specialty Instructor training. We completed Deep-, Enriched Air-, Digital Underwater Photography-, Sidemount-, Aware fish ID-, Boat- and Night diving. On top of that we also completed one land based Instructor Specialty, the Oxygen Provider course at instructor level.
Now we’re all in Dumaguete, waiting for the PADI IE to start tomorrow morning. All systems are go!
Well done guys and girl! It was a fun time and now there’s only one last performance requirement to meet; tackle the IE!
